About This Role
Job Summary:
The IT Hardware Executive is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting an organization's IT hardware, including desktops, laptops, printers, networking devices, and peripherals. The role ensures that all IT equipment is functioning efficiently to support business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other IT hardware.
Diagnose and resolve hardware-related issues for end users.
Install and configure operating systems, drivers, and essential software.
Perform preventive maintenance and hardware upgrades.
Manage hardware inventory, asset tagging, and stock records.
Coordinate with vendors for warranty claims, repairs, and replacements.
Configure and troubleshoot basic network devices such as routers, switches, Wi-Fi access points, and LAN connectivity.
Provide technical support to employees both onsite and remotely.
Set up IT equipment for new employees and decommission systems for exiting employees.
Maintain documentation of IT assets, service requests, and maintenance activities.
Ensure compliance with IT security policies while handling hardware.
Required Skills
Knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
Understanding of PC assembly, hardware components, and peripherals.
Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi).
Familiarity with Active Directory and printer management is an advantage.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and customer support skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
1–3 years of experience in IT hardware support (Freshers with relevant certifications may also apply).
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft, or Cisco (CCNA) are an added advantage.
